Artwork in Perspective

"While the subject matter of my work spans from paintings to interior design hand-renderings, I draw upon my love of nature and the healing qualities of art. My art, design and teaching is not just a reflection of the beauty on the surface, but an exploration of deeper paths to inner beauty and healing, beneath all the fragile human layers. It is my goal to use my skills to add value and make a difference in the world."   —Denise Bunkert

A Much like the many layers and seasons of life, Denise Bunkert creates designs with many layers of colors and textures. Each piece of artwork is the result of exploring nature and the inner workings of healing the human spirit. She brings this feeling to life in her designs and fine art paintings.

In line with this belief, Denise Bunkert was awarded several commissioned illustrations and paintings for the Minnesota Childrens Hospitals and the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. She created artwork for the “Arts and Healing: Urban Renewal Project”, in Minnesota. Her paintings reside in the permanent collection of the Minnesota Childrens Hospitals, the Mother Baby Center, Regions Hospital and the Lake Nokomis Clinic.

Denise is an award-winning artist and designer who also teaches art workshops to children and adults. Her work is exhibited in galleries and appears on campaign thank you cards for the Ann Bancroft foundation and the Bernese Mountain Dog Foundation. She has presented and instructed classes at the Wilder Foundation, Legacy Academy, Minneapolis Business College, Academy College, Edina and Bloomington Art Centers and Minnesota galleries.

Denise Bunkert also wrote poetry, illustrated, designed and published a limited edition book of paintings and poems, “Essence: Nature in Vision & Verse”, and created paintings, designed, photographed and produced a collaborative book, "Mirrors of the Soul: Reflections on Life's Seasons" with English poet Richard Whitfield.
